    Popular Question and Answer

    1. What Makes Fuding White Tea Unique?

Fuding White Tea is produced exclusively in Fuding, Fujian Province, China, using approved local tea cultivars and traditional white tea processing methods, including natural withering and careful drying. Unlike green or black tea, white tea is minimally processed, allowing it to retain its delicate floral aroma, mellow sweetness, and natural character.

    2. Can Fuding White Tea Be Aged?

Yes. High-quality Fuding White Tea is well known for its aging potential when stored under suitable conditions. Over time, the tea’s aroma and flavor gradually evolve from fresh floral notes to richer honeyed, fruity, and mellow characteristics. While aging changes the sensory profile, the exact results depend on the tea grade and storage environment.

    3. Does Fuding White Tea Contain Caffeine?

Yes. Like all teas made from Camellia sinensis, Fuding White Tea naturally contains caffeine. The amount varies depending on the cultivar, harvest season, leaf grade, and brewing method. Bud-heavy teas such as Silver Needle generally contain more caffeine than leafier grades like Shou Mei, although the caffeine content is typically lower than a standard cup of coffee.

    4. How Should I Brew Fuding White Tea?

For most Fuding White Teas, use fresh water heated to 90–100°C (194–212°F). Brew 3–5 grams of tea with 150–200 ml of water. Start with a 30–60 second infusion and gradually increase the brewing time for later infusions. Premium white tea can usually be steeped several times while continuing to develop new layers of flavor.

    6. Is Your Fuding White Tea Organic?

Not all Fuding White Tea is organic. Organic certification depends on the farming practices of each individual tea garden and producer, rather than the region itself. If a tea is certified organic, it will carry certification from an accredited body such as USDA Organic, EU Organic, or other recognized certification agencies. We clearly identify the certification status of every tea we offer, so you can purchase with confidence.

    7. What Is the Difference Between Silver Needle, White Peony, and Shou Mei?

The difference lies primarily in the harvesting standard and leaf maturity.

Silver Needle (Baihao Yinzhen) is made exclusively from unopened buds, producing a delicate, floral, and elegant cup.

White Peony (Bai Mudan) consists of one bud with one or two young leaves, offering a balanced flavor with floral sweetness and a fuller body.

Shou Mei is made from more mature leaves and buds harvested later in the season, resulting in a richer, fruitier, and more robust character that is especially suitable for long-term aging.

All three are authentic categories of Fuding White Tea produced from the same tea species using the same traditional processing methods, with the main differences being harvest standard, appearance, and flavor profile.
